i was driving to day very normaly.
all the suden the car shut down and service engine light went on ,i had power but no throtel responce to the car it just coasted,
i pulled over and turn the car off and waited then restrart the car it started but has a very bad ratel right by the super charger right under niegth it sounds some thing is loose or inthere. IT MUST BE IN THE HEAD
any idea guys?
i am @ 40000 miles and out of waranty period.
i have no idea what is going on the car sounds fine on 1000 rpm but as soon as i gas it you hear a very loud (KLUNG KLUNG).
like if your Exhuast was crack or broken sound.

please help if you have any idea.

You sure about the warranty? It should go 4 years and 50,000 miles. The essentially useless maintenance program ends at 36,000...

 

tow it to the shop have them take a look at it.

 

Using MINI roadside for a free tow in and have them take a look.

 

i have mods 15% pulley plugs intake does that mater?
after reading the spark plug thread i went and checked the plugs there all in there the wiers where in to so i do not think is the plugs, but i colud be wrong.
i realy have no idea what it is!

 

Sounds expensive, whatever it is. And I don't mean to knock the reliability of the Mini, but as a new MC buyer I can say catagorically that I knew going in that I was buying a British sports car and that part of the deal was that someday it would break and be expensive to fix.

That seems acceptable to me as I have just dropped $18,000 in legal expenses the past 11 months in a brutal custody battle with the eX-wife. My attorney tells me we won but a month after the trial a decision still has not been handed down by the judge.

The MC is my escape from all that crap, --it's only money after all and though I am not rich or anything like that, I have accepted that there are some things in life I simply have to do without feeling like a victim of fate. Certainly true when it comes to serving the best interests of my kid, just as it does making sure my only true satisfaction in life is in proper running order once the warranty runs out and the thing breaks down.

the car still not drive able.
it is not the belt tensioner, i did not see a crack or broken spring.
it must be inside the HEAD.
just got it towed to DEALER

 

have them check the internal water pump on the supercharger. the warranty is for 4 years/ 50k miles. you should still be covered. give it a shot at the dealer first. good luck

 

can you believe this.
supercharger is gone
only 40000 miles and the bearing are gone,
the dealer says it is because of the 15% pulley, i see so many people driving around with 15,17 & 19% pulley and no problems.
what went wrong here i do not drive the car that hard no track once in a great moon red line it.
the dealer have no responce excepet $$$$$. to fix it.
i have been looking around on ebay no superchargers for sale.
any idea where i can find one.
