230km/h or that's about 144 miles.
Autobahn in slovenia.
On local road, it's my record about 215km/h that's about 134 milesanhour.

I hit an indicated 140 on the NJ turnpike racing a guy in a late 90's audi A4 2.8 quattro on my way back from FL with just a Madness intake. The 2.8 pulled on me from 8--110, but above 110 I had him! The car actually felt very staple at those speeds.

All I Know is what the speedo marks, that is what I thought also, until that day. It makes me wonder if it really is electronically governed. The speedo marked just past the 140mph mark. I will try to get a pic or a video of it for you.

Anyone can step on the gas and go in a straight line.

Around a 197 degree turn on the “Dragon Tail”.

I've done 80 in some pretty hairy dirt roads.. I actually got the car to brake traction, but then againI don't have dsc, or asc , but then agian when I broke traction I pulled otu so quick because the mini is just that cool!

110mph.. not as fast as some,, but I was on 340 ( fairly small 2 lane road) I was behind 5 cars going too slow..I found a straightaway to get around them and punched.. I had NO idea I was doing 110 ( since the highest i've pushe dit by accident was 90...) It wasn't until my girlfiend choaked and said oh my gawd, your doing a hundred and ten!! I then slowed down becasue I ran out of passing road, but the looks on the face of the people I was passing is something I wont forget Be careful people.. I've been in quite a few accidents..none of them my fault.. I knwo that goign this fast was dangerous.. don't be a fool and race someone on an open road... especailly when you can't see far engouh down the road to be safe! ...

the speedo marks right at 140 on the deserted highway I travel on the way to work every morning. I can see seven + miles, on a two lane state road with litterally no one else in front or behind me. I guess it is a benefit of living in the High Desert of southern Colorado. I have been told that BMW autos are notorious for being overly generous at the speedo, so maybe it is only 135. I don't know, seems fast to me.

When comparing the onboard computers average speed to the speedo I've noticed a discrepancy (about 5 mph). Driving past one of those police "your speed is" devices incurred another discrepancy (possibly planned by the local law enforcement). Anybody have any idea how accurate this function of the computer is?

Just because your speedometer says you're going 140 doesn't mean you're going 140.

BMW/MINI speedometers are notorious for being "optimistic" and the level of optimism tends to rise as the indicated speed rises.
