Lower steering column shaft bound up

Lower steering column shaft bound up
At 86,000 miles that is what happened to my MC. Having it replaced at the dealer now. Who else has had this? I would think it is the steering universal that gave out.

Same problem after I discovered a clunking sound at low speeds on my 2003 MC. Was replaced under warranty at 45K miles.

bound steering column
My old 2003 popped during steering. It seemed to go away when I lowered the column with the tilt steering.
