Window won't roll down
Window won't roll down
So, my 03 MINI Cooper is just out of warranty and the problems begin.
100 miles out of warranty, the light behind half of the thermostat controls goes out. Any idea how hard to fix? If it involves soldering, I am out, but if it is a bulb, I'm in.
Now, 4k out of warranty, the passenger windown won't drop or go down. Click the toggle and nothing happens. You can hear a click like it is trying to engage, but the window does not move. It won't drop when the door is opened either. What is up? Can it be fixed easily? I have to check the connections in the center console (I have the Auto-up curcuit, but I do not think that is loose or anything).
Thanks for any help!

I found some solutions here on a search, but nothing seems to be working see thread:

I hope this link works. If not, the thread was named "removing door panel.Window doesnt roll down"

Gave it another try using the suggestions in the NAM thread. After many attempts the window finally rolled down. I'll see if this was a once in a while issue or if my motor needs replacing. Thanks for the link.
New motors can be had at any dealers. But be careful, if you're doing this on your own. When you're replacing just the motors, you gotta be real careful in taking them off, or you'll end up replacing the regulator with it as the cable will unwind if you're not careful.
as for the cluster lights, all LEDs, so you gotta solder. a new cluster is VERY expensive, probably cheaper to have someone solder it on for you.

Awesome guys!! I had the same problem with the window on the passenger side. I was like here we go with the endless maintenance bill, but I'm glad i joined the forum and see that I'm not the only one who encountered problems like this.
