Weird Check Engine Light?
Weird Check Engine Light?
After installing my MINI armrest (which is utterly fantastic, btw), I also took advantage to vaccum my car and really give the inside a thorough cleaning. Well, I'm too much in love with the radio, and I ended up running the battery down. While it's not terrific for the battery, I don't believe that once is going to cause any detrimental damage. When I was done cleaning, I grabbed my Napa battery jump pack, hooked 'er up and jumped my car. Drove to my girlfriend's house, was there for a few hours, got back in my car and it started fine, etc. etc. Got home, finished fiddling with the armrest (smoothing off some cuts I had to make in the console cover piece, putting the handbrake boot back on, yada yada yada).
I started up my car to pull it in the garage, and while it started fine, I got a CEL. I took the car out to the gas station and back, to see if either a little drive or a fresh tank of gas (I was down to my last bar) would solve the problem, and neither did. Everything feels like it's responding fine, power doesn't seem down, it doesn't smell like it's running too rich or anything like that. I'm really quite baffled at what could be causing the computer to switch the light. Tomorrow I plan on running by Advanced Auto Parts and borrowing their OBDII scanner and seeing what code it's throwing, but I wanted to see if this is a common problem when the battery runs down or something.
