A/C question.

I have two Mini's. In my '06 MCS, once the A/C is turned off the air stops blowing. In my '05 MCc that is not the case. If I just turn it off, the air still comes through the vents as if the outside air vents are still open. In order to not have any air come through I first have to change the A/C to manual mode, turn on recirculated air button, point the vents at my feet and then turn the whole thing off. That doesn't sound normal.

Does anyone have any advice?

TIA

That's strange... I have automatic climate control and when I turn it off, there's no air coming from the vents...

I'd say you're good for a little dealer trip!

I guess you could manually close the gates on each of the 4 outlets too.

Me personally, I'd love to have what your 05 is doing. I've own several German A/C units in both manual and auto versions and I hate the way you have to run the system in the auto versions to get free outside air venting. (I've had some squeaky/noise fans in the past that used to drive me crazy.)

I got my 06 with premium package a la carte, just to get a manual A/C system again, and I love it..... I'd keep your 05 just the way it is .

This sounds like you have the ''allow outside air circulation'' button off in your your 05 MCc and on in your 06 MCS. So when the button is lit, outside air circulation is not allowed. The ''outside air circulation'' button is the button that has two arrows in a circle. Does this make sense to you?

It does. The problem is that when A/C is on auto in both cars that button is off (no light). Once the A/C is shut down the MCS closes those vents. The MCc doesn't unless I first turn that button on.

is this button on the manual or the auto a/c?

i also would LOVE to have the "problem" you are having with the '05.

at road speed not being able to get air circulation w/o running the fan is a crock.

Hmmm. My fans keep blowing if I shut the AC off. I hit Auto to turn the whole deal off.
