Average Speed Calculator is wrong

i drive around 70 miles each day on a highway commute...then pull off the highway for about a mile of around town driving to reach my home.

for the past several months the "average speed" calculator is showing in the 14mph - 16 mph area.
the calculator gauge used to be correct. all the other "gauges" on the pod are accurate including mpg and "range".

any ideas how to set this thing or re-boot.

It never has worked on my MINI either. My average is always around 20-30 mph for some reason...oh well, it's a worthless calculation anyway.

I did a dyno run and it reset my avg speed back to 0 after 5k miles. I was at about 36. My avg spd climbs daily ever since then. Now I'm at 16 and I'm definitely way more than that and yes, it is a worthless measurement.

You have to take into account all the time you are idleing your average speed is 0. That will very quickly lower your average.

It is a fairly useless calculation around town.

When I was at a track day I would reset it before each run. As the day progressed I went from about 56mph to 58mph average over a 15 minute run. That is the only time it has been useful for me.

Browse till it displays Avg MPH and hold down the computer selector button. Mine seems accurate however the Avg Econ is off by about +4 mpg.

You need to reset it each time you fill up. Hold the button that tabs through the different options for 3-4 seconds, or at least until it reads --. Hope that helps.

There Are Times Ive Looked At Mine And It Says 88mph And Others Ive Seen As Low As .4mph. Al On The Same Tank Of Gas. I Usually Reset Mine Before Longer Trips Or Club Runs.
