service engine light
My sevice engine light came on today, no problems with the car, runs fine. Can anyone check the codes or does it have to be a MINI dealer?

Anyone or any place with a code reader can check the codes for you - good luck with it!

Some auto parts stores will check codes & reset for free. Like Autozone.

took it to autozone, code was for the gas cap. reset it and everything is fine now. thanks to rhawth99 and namwob for the help.

Chances are its your O2 sensor acting up. Same thing happend to me... Took it into the Mini dealership and they confirmed it, booked an apointment to have it replaced...Been fine ever since

^^ or your ECU's just throwing error codes. i think i read there was a update for the error code fix.
