I've never heard of those before. Interesting...

It appears to be a spin-on, which of course means that we would need some type of conversion. The Coopers have such an aftermkt item, but the MCS... not yet at least.

If indeed it cost 200 bucks, I'm not sure financially it would be a big savings, or big enough to merit the additional work of cleaning it...

I'm sure the folks concerned about the enviornment like this idea!

I don't think I'd trust a washable, re-useable filter.
I did use a Canton Mecca oil filter in my old car (82 VW Rabbit S)
which had replaceable element that filtered to 8 microns
at high flow rates, and a bulletproof case, but I don't think they
make them for MINIs.

 

I think I'll keep on buying the OEM filters. For the price of that one you can buy a whole lot of MINI filters. I bet it would get your warranty voided like right now too.
