I changed my oil last night with the help of a local MINI owner. It was no where near as difficult as everyone says. But the experience was helpful, and I did learn some things.

But today, when i went to lunch with some coworkers, the check engine light came on. I Checked the oil and its fine, no leaks in my parking spot either. I checked the gas cap and wanted to make sure i put it on tight yesterday when I filled up, I did. Any other ideas or things to check? Does anyone know if auto zone can check the codes?

I had the engine light come on for me a couple weeks ago. I have an '05 MC with about 16,000km's on it. I was driving slowly on a gravel road (as i always do), and the light just came on. So i brought it to the dealership that day and they said it was the oxygen-sensor glitching. So they reset the message and its been fine ever since.

 

We will see on wednesday. I am just going to let the car sit. Ill just change my wheels this weekend and wait.
