Now that it is confirmed that the transaxle takes MTF94, where do I buy it?

NW Mini has it in a 25 gallon drum. They don't want to sell me any, and actually are trying to talk me out of changing mine, saying it is lifetime fill, etc. They will change it for me, but why pay the labor, and I know it's done right if I do it.

So, anyone got the inside track on where to buy this stuff?

I don't want to use anything else, i.e. Redline until the warranty is up, so I need to find a supplier.

I checked with our local Land Rover dealer as they are supposed to carry it, but they don't, they use Redline.

Thanks,

John

Hey ghillie:

Now that you found out that the 6-speed MCS uses MTF94, do you know what type of fluid does the 5-speed MC uses?

Thanks for any help you can provide...

Juan

They are lifetime fills. If I were to change and did not do any racing, 60,000 plus would be a consideration though. I'll find out more on the MTF94 in july when I take a gear lube class. Apparently there is something unique about that spec.. We'll see.

Zappa:

Do you know if the 5-spoeed MC transaxle uses also MTF94?
Is it different? If it is a different fluid, do you know what kind?

Thanks for any input...

Juan

I'm in the middle of a clutch replacement and about to stick the transmission back in. I've already picked up some Moble 1 synthetic gear oil, but figured I'd better check a bit more closely before using it.

Thanks for any information

See the related "%-speed gear oil post". Redline's MTL (70w-80) is an exact relapcement for the factory gear oil. Follow the link below for recommended fluids for the MC.http://www.kroon-oil.com/uk/
