Hello there..

My MINI seems to be running quite low on coolant.
It does not overheat or anything but the level of the coolant inside the tank seems to be quire low.

Is there any special types of coolant I have to refill it with?

Can I get them at a local auto partshops? Thank you!

 

Use the BMW/Mini coolant and use half coolant, half water.

i use subaru's coolant since it's the same green color and made for aluminum motors
(and since i have a bottle left over...) and split with distilled water, but ive used
drinking water too. something that's not tap water is probably best.

I need to add a small amount every year. Im going to get the coolant flushed before
end of this year though.

 

Use plain distilled water; add only to the top of the fill line which is just below the surge tank seam. If you have some coolant in the tank, the amount of water needed to “top off” will not be enough to upset the balance of the original mixture. When it comes time to flush & change then use MINI coolant part #82-14-0-031-133.
