I have now changed oil for the second time on my Cooper and find that overnight I have a quarter sized drip of oil on the floor directly under the lower control arm on the passenger side of the suspension. I assumed the first time that I either didn't treat the large O-ring correctly or didn't tighten the canister to specification. Well, this time I was more festidious about both and cleaned up the oil drips I could find on the suspension and low and behold two days later I have started the slow drip again. I can see that the canister is seated correctly and fully. I can't see where the drip is coming from since I only have jacks and stands in my garage with no lift.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I will certainly include this question for Anthony at Ralph Schomp MINI when I schedule an appointment but, I was just curious. It is annoying to have a new car dripping on your clean garage floor.
