MINI weight... GTech info

Has anyone had their car's weighted ?

It's one of the parameters you need for the GTech, i was driving by a gravel pit, turned and walked into the office.

A young lady asked if she could help, when I said I wanted the weight of my car she asked if it was to get it plated, when I said no she smiled and told me to drive around back get in line with the Dump trucks drive on wait for the green and drive to the shack and get my slip !

The truckers must have had a laugh, thinking " How much gravel can they have in that dinky toy.. " as they rumbled around me...
It came out at 1360 - 1370 Kg ( 1Kg = 2.2 lbs ) = 3014 lbs !!! minus my Son i'm still looking at over 2800 lbs...

I thought it was lighter than that !
There is supposed to be about a 200 lbs difference between the Cooper and the S anyone else got any numbers on a Stock NOT stripped out Race Car..

Thanks,

I weighed mine on a digital scale and it was exactly 2601 lbs. It's a 2006 JCW MCS, 6 speed, cloth/leather interior and I had 16" wheels on it at the time.

So, a digital scale is accurate to within half a pound at 2600lbs? I highly doubt it. I'd suggest you do like me, and round it to the nearest 10lbs, which is still more specific than the accuracy of any scale that can measure between 2000 and 3000lbs. (Remember, in the US, a ton weighs 2000lbs.)
So do you think you can feel the lower weight of your car compared to a stock MCS (which weighs about 2700lb)?
cheers, dr. phil

Fine - 2600 lb

As for feeling the weight difference from a stock MCS I wouldn't be a good judge - never drove one for long enough. Test drove it at the dealer (and the MC) and decided to go JCW and that was that.

With the lighter and smaller wheels, less the extra weight from the premium package, leather interior, and greater HP then the stock MCS - I'm sure you'd feel the difference

I can feel the difference going from my 18" JCW wheels to my 16" with my eyes closed (not advised ) where the difference is 12.5lb per wheel.
