CVT Limp Mode ...FIX!
My Mini for the longest time was going in and out of limp mode. After being able to clear it by stopping, resting and restarting, this no longer worked after a while.
So, the night before I was going to Limp Mode imy Mini over 90 miles on S. Cal Highways to my dealer, I gave it a full once over.
I soon found out that I had a blown fuse in the fuse box next to my ECU. Swapped the bad fuse out with a good one and never had the problem again.
Could this be true for the 5 and 6 speed? Take a look.
It was a 15 amp fuse, number 3 or 4 from the front of the box.
BTW-My next Mini check (#2).up is in about 1200 miles.

Hello nfo,
The newest mod I have is a cold/forced air induction/ Small hood scoop.
What a wonderful difference not only through out the power band but to the sound as well. It always turns heads when I get into it. My gas mileage drops to about 20-25 mpg when I am in manual mode and keeping all gears above 4,000 rpm. Which were max performance and throttle response is.
Automatic has always been above 30 mpg. I am not running the stock cam either.
As soon as I can control the idle speeds I will put my big cam back in which drops this 4,000 rpm range down to about 3,000 rpm's.
At my last Solo II event my car times we right up with the Stock Cooper 'S" as well as the Acura Integra.
Fun stuff....
