Rear jacking points and Jack Stand placement

I'm getting ready to do the sway bar today and I'm trying to figure out where to put my floor jack to jack it up. I looked in the rear section of the undercarriage and was unable to find a spot similar to the front. In addition, I'm wondering where I'm supposed to put my jack stands. Do I just put the jack stands on the same strip as when I did the front but just further in the back?

Check this out

If you already jacked up the front you should have been able to see the jack points in the back (a little in front of the rear tires). To jack up the back of your MINI just place your jack under the front jack point and jack it up high enough until you can place a jack stand under the jack point (same side as one you're jacking) in the rear. Repeat the procedure for the other side. If you want pictures take a look at the DIY brake procedure that OctaneGuy has done for brakes. In the pictures you can see the location that he uses for jacking up the MINI. Good luck and remember to use wheel chocks. Good luck with the rear sway bar install

Yeah, if the fronts are already up, all you have to do is jack one of the rear sides up and the other side will come up too. Put a stand under the other side and just leave the jack under to provide a little support. Also, if you have a longer jack, you should be able to jack the car up from the center of the rear subframe.

so ur saying, in order to place the jack stands under the rear jack points. u would jack the front of the car up (using the front jack point) , so that the car is high enough for u to place a jack stand under the rear jacking point??

Yeah, pretty much. If you don't have a jack that's low or long enough to reach the rear subframe, you almost have to get the front up in order to jack up the rear. I with they would have put a middle jacking point on the MINI.

kapps and anyone else.. doing this jacking method (ie to lift the rear, jack the front up ) this is ok for the car? wont it put too much weight/stress on the otherside of the car? or cause severe 'warping' of the subframe or anything else?

Yes it does put extra stress on the chasis but not enough to do any damage. Take a look at auto-x pics of a MINI and you'll see the rear inside wheel being lifted off the ground in a corner. That's some stress. Not many cars will bend if you jack them up incorrectly.
