Speedometer ticking???

Well, I opened the boot a few days ago to load some parts in and I hear this strange ticking... I look all around and see that the speedometer is jerking back and forth about a cenetimeter... No keys in the ignition. I put the keys in and turned the ignition on and it stopped. This also happened to a friend of mine last night. Any ideas? I only found one other thread on it and it wasn't helpfull.

Theres a bomb in your car run away fast!!!

umm first I've heard of this (ticking without the keys) but I heard the car starts doing wierd thing when the batt. is about to go. Also sometimes it calibrates itself but I always thought this was done with keys in the ignition as the car starts up.

Yep, normal. Nothing to worry about-just a slight voltage drop to the speedo. Nothing to fret...
