Pulled the trigger on Aero Kit... Now what?
Just jumped in the deep end with the deal on an Indi Blue Aero kit from Classic MINI Parts. At $600.00 how could I resist? Shipping is a bear but still worth the price considering... Anyway, now I need links on how to install these parts before they arrive.
Can anyone here point me in the right direction?
TIA,
Matt

Shipping to California is $250 via Fed Ex - 5 big boxes strapped to a palet. Sucks for sure but I wanted it insured. I tried to call those guys with the kit on ebay but got no response... I called around and all the dealers in California still want 1200-1700 for the kit so I'm still going to get a decent deal for my area but I wish I was close enough to pick it up myself. Let me know how your install goes...

Well It took me 4 calls this morning to get someone on the phone. I wanted to pick up today but was told the item was out of stock and they had more coming in. I don't like it when vendors advertise out of stock items
I will not go into it too much and will give them a chance to make things right. As of now I may be able to pick them up on Thursday from what I was told.
I will let you know what happens.

Thanks again.
As far as the sill plates go, I think you will have to loose them unless you know how to remove them fom the side skirts without damaging them- then I think you might be able to re tape them as I bet it's just heavy duty double sided tape. Understand these are just my assumptions and you know what they say about that.

Removing the sill plates from the stock skirts isn't all that hard. I used a putty knife the pry them off and caused no damage at all. Just take your time. The harder part is getting the old glue off them so they can be re-attached.
If you read the info from Motoring File you should be ok, just go slow and test fit things so you know what to expect. My side skirts took about 2 hrs. but at least half of that was just figuring out how to attach the skirt to the bracket, after that it was a piece of cake.

The $600 kit is ONLY for the MINI Cooper, not the S, although the front bumper and side skirts are a universal fit...the rear bumper is Cooper specific...but still for that price it cheaper than buying JUST the front bumper and having it painted!!

Here's the post I responded to:

And here's the one K9MINI bought. Definately an "S"kit.

Plainly say the kit is for the "S." If the kit is not for the "S" and it shows up at my door there will be a problem.
Also, thanks for the links guys, keep 'em coming...
Matt
Just as a heads up... The black inserts that surround the fog lights are NOT included in the aero kit. Without them, the recess will just be the same color as the bumper. All a matter of taste, really. If you want/need them they must be ordered seperately - ballpark price is $60.00
The "blackouts" are here on this Cooper pic:

But not on this one:

Here's a close up from another thread
