JCW Plug choice

A quick search revealed some 1 to 2 year old threads on spark plugs for the JCW. I am hoping to get some new updates based on experience. So, has anyone now had any experience with the non-OEM available plugs?? If anyone changed out their plugs with another set of OEM plugs did you have any useful tips or information? I'm not crazy about the $28/each cost of the OEM plugs, so cheaper is always better, but I'm mainly interested in the performance and if there are better options.

Thanks!!

I just paid $41 shipped for a set of Denso Ik22's off Ebay. Best price I was able to find ($7.95 of that was for shipping).

I changed mine out at 20K miles. I used the OEM MCS/JCW plugs from the dealer. They must be made from solid diamond to cost that much! The original plugs were completely covered in carbon fouling, and the car ran much smoother after the change. I kept them out in my shop. When it comes time to change them again, I'm going to see what the price for these plugs are from AutoZone or maybe Summit.

Use some di-electric grease on the insulators to prevent the plug wire boots from sticking, and use some anti-sieze on the threads.

So far so good....

Thanks for the info so far. The info on dielectric grease is excellent. I'm not convinced on the anti-sieze compound though, I would be concerned about the plugs backing out. Any one else hae thoughts on that? I've never had problems with plugs coming out.

I'm sure there are more out there that have changed out plugs. Even if everything went perfect I'd like to know that.

Thanks!!!
