I had a P0172 code come up yesterday. So far I know that it is a System running to rich code. Here is what I don't know. Why am I getting this code?

Just last week I installed Denso Iridium Spark Plug IK22. I know that the Ik22 run colder so could that be a problem.

Here are the other mods I have but never had a problem before.
BMP CAI,Screamin' Demon Coil pack,Live Wires Spark plug wires,and I have MTH cartune installed.

Any ideas?

 

There is my bet. MTH. But its just a guess since it is changing the A/F mix

 

I have have MTH installed for about 2 months but maybe that is it. I have wrote Mth about it. Thanks for the reply. If anyone else has any ideas let me know.

 

BULLETIN : R52, R53 equipped with 6 speed manual trans produced from 3/05 up to 9/05.

SITUATION : DME (MS5150) fault code P0136 ( O2 sensor bank 1 post cat malfunction ) may be stored after starting the vehicle colde and driving a short distance to a downhill slope causing the vehicle to enter a deceleration or fuel cutoff situation for an extended period. If such a condition is encountered in two consecutive drive cirles, the CEL is going to be iiluminated.

CAUSE: DME calibration.

CORRECTION : Reprgram the DME with a newer version software ( or update )

 

Thanks, I will keep that in mind. After clearing the code about three days ago it hasn't come back. But I know that it could happen again so I may need to have it reprogrammed.
