boot/bonnet light stays on????

boot/bonnet light stays on????

the red indicator light for open boot or bonnet is staying on-i actually can hold the microswitch on the hood latch shut with a pen but the light stays on-anyone heard of this?

Sounds like a bad switch. Calls for a stealer visit for warranty work.

Try disconnecting the battery for a few min. By the time you try that someone who has had that problem will possibly chime in.

The battery will have no effect on a latch sensor. It's bad, get it replaced.

Just had this happen on Monday. Try adjusting the rubber bumpers on your boot inward so the boot lid will close further. That fixed mine.

it won't fix it if closing the switch manually still shows a fault.

did you test both the boot and bonnet switches??
it's probably the one you didn't test

But he states that he's only holding the bonnet latched closed with a pen. The problem with mine was the boot lid. A combination of closing it too hard and the bump stops being too far out was causing the light to stay on for me. Adjusted the bump stops and closed the boot lid normally and no more light.
