I am having trouble with my power steering pump. It went out all together 5 weeks ago. I had it repaired at a cost of $798.23. 3 days ago it started acting up again (very hard to turn).

I understand that this a fairly common occurrence, and was wondering if anyone here was or is having trouble. I had to get a pump from another source because the dealer was back-ordered with a long wait to get an original pump. I've heard from others online that were pushing to get a recall from the factory, due to so many owners having problems.

had to have power steering motor replaced (done under warranty)

 

Are you still having issues with the pump?

We average about 5 pump repairs a month here ( fan included )

 

i haven't had any problems with the pump yet. i did however have the rack, and the steering colum replaced. under warrenty.
power steering pumps have been off back order for almost a month now.

 

My wife's 04 MC had the same issue this morning. Power steering went out, and then we turned off the car and turned it back on and it worked again. We're taking it in for warranty work.
