Anyone else have this?

There seems to be grease leaking from the hole in my boot, near where the boot latches onto the rear. The grease leaked down the back of the bumper.

 

Yes, its a pain that doesnt go away. It is protective wax stuff to prevent rust.

It is rustproofing that BMW uses. It should only do it when it is hot out. You will notice the same thing on BMW 3 series rocker panels, where it oozes out of the drip holes in the bottom of the doors.

It will eventually stop.

 

Mine and my girlfriends mini did it as well. It finally stopped after a while.

 

It is the cosmoline (parafin-like) sealer they put all over the car when it is shipped across the pond. It usually starts to weep out when it's hot outside, but will eventually stop. You can use a little bit of WD40 on a soft cloth to clean it up when it shows up.
