"Loose" Drivers window in '05 MCS

I've had "sparky" for about two months. In the last few weeks, I've noticed that the drivers side window sounds "loose" or wiggly when it is up and the door is open. The passenger side sounds very quiet and tight. Does anyone else have this problem? It seals up very well when closed (no wind noise, ect.).

Should I take it into the dealer?

Lance

Are your windows tinted?

me too

I also have the loose window issue, now on both windows, if up and door is open, no looseness when doors are closed. I had the driver window adjusted post purchasing due to it being completely out of allignment and hitting the side pillar, but it still rattles a bit. Now the passenger side is also loose/rattlely a bit. My 2004 didn't have rattlely windows.... Makes the car feel a bit cheap... I will request attention to this on my 10k check-up, along with the trunk rattle (fixed with tape on latch), and assorted other issues... Love the MINI, but these quirks are annoying.. I now just turn up the radio and motor though... 2005 with lsd, jcw

If a fix is identified that owners can do, I would love to hear... Thanks....

For a car two months old I'd go straight to the dealer. Let them document the problem and deal w/ it. If you try to fix something which is certainly covered under warranty, they may be unable to document a failure and that may wind up complicating warranty repairs. Issues w/ window motors/mechanisms should not be a surprise for your dealer as there were well-known problems addressed in the past. They should take a look anyway...they may be quite familiar w/ it. This is how it has worked w/ my dealer anyway...but they are very good to work with. I've had all kinds of little things addressed...but a "failure" had to be assessed and documented properly.

I have had it on all three MINIs - repaired and solved on the first one (but I only owned it 9 months); repaired and returned on the second one; ignoring it as a "feature" on the third one

I've got the loose driver's side window as well. It's going to the dealer for its first service on tuesday, I'll report back then.

I've just noticed this on my 05mcs in the last few days. I've had my mini for a little over 8 months with about 9500 miles on it. It seems when I go over a wavy/bumpy road it sounds like it is loose. I've always noticed when I opened my doors the windows seem kind of loose but never paid any attention until now. I guess I will be going in for servicing in the next month or so. I usually have my radio up enough or my windows down to cover up the sound.
