bad speedo? anyone else?

bad speedo? anyone else?

yea i was just curious if anyone ever had a problem with the speedometer?
1 week into having my car the speedo was reading 10 miles faster than i was realy going. at a stand still it was reading 10 mph. they replaced the entire speedo and has been ok since.

Hmm... I haven't heard of that one. Most speedometers are a little inaccurate depending on the size of your wheel+tire combination in relation to whatever stock wheel+tire combination was used as the baseline for the car, but this is usually pretty small (a few percent) unless you've gone up/down 2" or more, or went with wider/thinner tires.

But seeing as your speedo at a dead stop was showing 10 mp/h, I'm led to believe it was just somehow off and not properly calibrated to 0. Even with changes in wheel/tire, 0 should really be 0 (+ or - a percent )

my speedo is anywhere between +10, 0, to -5ish only when I stop the car and I seem to be doing what other cars are doing... so I thinks its just when it stops it is off by a hair... when I start the engine it goes back to 0....

I have also taken mine apart sooooo it could be just that i *******D it up...
