Window inoperative in high heat

Hey. It recently hit 94 degrees in my area and my MCS sits outside while I'm at work. When I got to the car, I opened all the windows with the remote to let the heat out while I put my stuff in the boot. This time the driver's side window didn't open. When I pulled the door handle, the window didn't drop a little like it always does. I started the car up and still nothing. I had to wait a bit and (I think) once the heat reduced enough the window started operating like normal.

Anyone else have this same problem? Did your dealership response to and/or recognize the problem and fix it? Thanks.

Faulty window motor or switch - you'll have to take it in.

+1 - my sunroof died in the same manner.

And don't wait. It may work ok in cooler weather for a while then it will quit altogether - and luck will have it, it will die with the window open.

Sounds like a motor to me. My car has been through weeks of consecutive 115+ days and never had this happen.

I used to have that happen on my 03. I was told the heat expands the plastic bits in the car seperating the connections at some point. When the car cools down the connections come back together and the windows work. It hasn't happened on my 05 but my windows tend to squeak after sitting in the sun. Once again I think the door panels expand tighting up on the window.
