I have an 04 S and I lost my passanger A piller molding. I have had my windsheild replaced 2x. the first when only a week old (stress crack) with in about a week the molding flew off. I went back to the windshield place and they replaced it. What was interesting was that they said that the dealer asked the date of my car because there was a newer part number due to the old part "flying off" at speed.

Same thing just happened to me! Passenger side, thought it was a huge black bird at first! Pulled over and realized the molding was gone. Turned around and was able to retrieve it, unfortunately cracked. Very bizarre. What year is yours? 04 MINI S.
