B & M SHIFTER INSTALL 04 HELP

just installed a b&m shifter for an 04 s great shifter little bit a pain in the a** but good stuff except for one thing...i have a borla sport exhaust on my car and the bottom of the new shifter box and the resonator but up to each other creating a very bad droning noise throughout the car with a stock exhaust there would be plenty of room and no problems....anybody experience the same problem with either a borla or miltek exhaust???
thanks for any help........
it is the correct shifter for my car i checked beforehand....

Check the previous post. The borla type exhaust warning is on the some vendors site. One fix I read since the new cover plate is about 15mm thicker is to install washers on the support plate to gain space between the resonator and cover plate.

I'm thinking of getting the same shifter for my 04 MCS. Did the height of the shifter change from stock. I'm hoping its a little lower like the ones for the 2003 and ealier B&M shift kit. Please post review.

no the shifter is the same height but the distance between shifts is greatly reduced it is great good feel and i have a wahlen that i think helps some too...overall it is a great mod as soon as the issue of the exhaust(borla race) rubbing on the bottom of the new shift box is resolved it will be even better.if you have a stock exhaust no problem........i think we ahve fixed this problem but will refine on it with some more time ......
