Spark Plug gap???
Spark Plug gap???
Ok, so a firend of mine got the Screamin' Demon coil pack and he was reading in the inscructions that said they reccomend opening up the spark plug gap to .065 in from stock. What does this mean/and how do you measure the spark plug gap. Also, how would you go about changing the gap? Thanks
Marco
P.S. i also posted this in the electrial forum, as i need a response pretty bad.

DrkSilver163,
Your stock spark plug gap with the stock 4 ground electrode spark plugs is set at 0.065" from the factory. No need to change the gap.
There is no simple means to change the electrode gap for the stock 4 ground electrode spark plugs.
The best and most reliable way to measure any spark plug gap is with a wire based spark plug gap measuring tool. These tools are available at most auto parts stores, including NAPA. The wire based gap tool is the standard in the aftermarket industry. Any other style of tool is a poor compromise.
In summary, just install your coil set and MOTOR. You are already set to go.

I agree with John, now get out there and Motor. Enough playing on the computer. Drive that MINI. YeeHaa!
Many of the spark plugs come pre gapped to help us do less or no fiddling with gaps.
In reality there is a range at which the plugs will work.
