Brought my '02 back from the dealer yesterday after getting recall items fixed. Tonight it's sitting in the garage with parking lights and brake lights flashing randomly every 10-15 seconds. It's also locking itself.

I've tried: 1.) Locking and unlocking with the fob.
2.) Turning motor on/off then locking/unlocking

Interestingly, one of the warranty items on the bill was that the hatch came open during the test drive and that the brake lights worked intermittantly. Neither of these things has ever happened to me. I assumed they were fixing a known problem with the 02's before my warranty ran out so I didn't question it.

Any ideas?

 

Really of the top of my head and it might not do a damn thing, but... try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery.

 

It happen to me a while back at night. I tryed everthing but to no avail. I ended up disconnecting the battery so won't drain it. When I took it to the dealer, they told me that it was a bad sensor inside the door or hatch, can' remember which but it's fixable though .

 

Sigh....They "fixed" it and now it's broken. My wife's going to love another trip into Pittsburgh at 45 mins each way.
