MCS: Supercharger? Roots or Eaton
Told a collegue at work that I'm on the list for a MCS and she stated that we (Eaton) supply the MINI supercharger. In fact, we had one at the local test track for development. I missed it, darn it.
All the articles I've read though refer to the "Roots" supercharger. However, believe the use of helical gears (interference => less internal by-pass leakage) from other MCS articles makes the MCS an Eaton supercharger (Roots-Like).

For those in the know, is it an Eaton or Roots supercharger?

It is a Roots-type made by Eaton. Eaton's Web Site says
The OZ reference you noted states
A general description of superchargers can be seen at GrapeApe.

It is a Roots-type made by Eaton. Eaton's Web Site says
Eaton Corporation's Air Management Systems Division, designs, manufactures and markets modified Roots-type positive displacement pumps (that's "superchargers" for everyone who isn't an engineer!) for the original equipment and aftermarket industries.
The Eaton supercharger is undoubtedly a well engineered product, leading the way in Roots type blower technology. Boost is produced by volume displacement rather than tip speed like a centrifugal blower.
