Bremmen Metal Thermostat Housing???

Tired of searching. New to Mini's. Just bought a '07 R56 for my son and I with 125k on it. I'm replacing all the known failure parts before they fail and leave either one of us stranded. Everyone complains about the plastic thermostat housing but I can't find a single post for or against the metal housing made by Bremmen and sold by ECS. Has anyone installed this housing, is it worth it or is it junk? It's $5 less than the plastic OEM so if it solves the problem I'm down just seems like nobody has or has posted about it. Thoughts, advice? Or if I'm just retarded someone post the link to the correct thread that I can't seem to find.

Thanks in advance

Yea, we have them, they are fine. I am going to run one on my car here soon once we get stock, they keep selling out. Other people have tested them already and they are good for ours. We just have the one version right now part number 11537534521. Mostly N14 engines and N12 engines. That one will fit your n14 above. We don't have the newer part number version yet. Thats for the newer N18 and select N16 engines

Also we have lifetime replacement now: https://www.ecstuning.com/LifetimeReplacement/ Parts will be marked if they are covered on our site.

Thank you. So strange they are selling out but can’t find any talk of them. I guess that’s a good thing because if they were junk there would for sure be talk.

Yep, we get a bunch of people that come to us as the go to for everything. They are not on social or FB. They call in or are on our site all the time.

We have some people that send us pictures of their MINIs but have no social presence, they just like to send us pics of their cars which is cool.

We just picked up both the metal crossover pipe and thermostat housing from ECS fort the same reason "don't want to worry about it ". Parts went on perfectly and the thermostat housing looks amazing even though you can't see it.

Hi,

I just got done installing one of these as well as a metal crossover pipe in a 2010 Mini Cooper S (N14). Seems fine except that I'm now getting a CEL with code 2EE5 MAP Thermostat Activation.

Trying to research what this actually means - is it a sensor; do I need a sendor adapter; is it a bad thermostat? I have no idea. But anyway, car runs, I have heat. If you have any thoughts on this, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks,

-Steve

Recheck the connections at the plugs, make sure one of them is not loose and everything on the wire side if hooked up . Sometimes those plug sockets wiggle loose. If that does not work, you might have a bad one and need a replacement, contact our team and let them know on a replacement.

This person just had it also.

Thanks so much for the reply. I hope to God it's a connection issue - I don't want to do the install again.

I inspected and reset the connections last night. I've driven the car a few times and since then and I haven't yet seen a check engine light, so maybe it's all good. Thanks for your help.
