Help diagnosing R57 electrical noises after CAS repair
Help diagnosing R57 electrical noises after CAS repair
Hi everyone, long time lurker first-time poster.
I have a 2012 R57 Cooper S with an N18 engine. I recently sent the CAS module to get repaired to a third party (heat related damage) after reading other threads here on NAM (link).
I've popped the CAS module back in, put the dash trim back on, connected the airbag and battery connectors but haven't turned the engine on yet. I'm observing some strange sounds when I enter/exit accessory mode that I'm not sure if they were there before.
Attached is an sound file of me popping the key in and turning accessory mode on/off.
Not sure what I should do. Any help most appreciated, thanks!

- 0 sec, physically place the key fob in
- 3 sec, push start/stop button to turn ON accessory mode
- some kind of motorized clicking sound for 2 sec
- a long continuous beep that lasts 10 sec
- 14 sec, long beep ends along with some kind of clicking sound
- silence
- 32 sec, suddenly the long beep is back with motorized clicking sounds
- 45 sec, long beeps ends exactly like at 14 sec
- 48 sec, turn OFF accessory mode and some kind of strong mechanical sound happens for 1 sec
Not sure what I should do. Any help most appreciated, thanks!
