Hey folks…
putting my 09 Cooper S automatic back together….and I’m about done when I find this mysterious electrical connector with nowhere to go…see the pictures…it comes off the backend of the main wiring harness that mounts near the thermostat and HPFP.

 

I just swapped out the engine in my 2011 base (no turbo) and had the same dongle "left over" after reconnecting the wiring harness. I can't find anything that it plugs into either, I thought it might be something for the turbo on a common wiring harness. Did you figure anything out?
