Car has power, but wont turn over...ews?
Hello, I have a 2004 MCS. I have owned the car for 2 years and it has never struggled to start. I started the car on Monday and it ran perfect. Today, I went to start it and nothing. The starter isnt making the typical grinding noise when it fails, it's making no noise at all.
Interior lights all work, headlights, ect. Used a NOCO battery jumper, no help there either. I hear a click from the steering column, and somewhere around the clutch pedal, I cant tell if its the solenoid, or the EWS that is making the sound. In the engine bay, I hear a click from the coil pack area as well. Head lights turn off when trying to start the car. Any advice/tips is much appreciated. Any EWS work arounds? Thanks!
Edit: Went and got the battery tested today and its good. Car still wont start.

Due to the location of the starter, diagnostics might suck.
If you can get a voltmeter on the starter signal wire and try to start the car, you should see battery voltage (12 volts or so) while cranking. Also verify you have battery voltage at the heavy gauge starter wire. Battery voltage should be present on that wire at all times.
If you have battery voltage on the heavy gauge wire and then battery voltage on the signal wire while cranking but the starter does not operate and your ground strap like NC TRACKRAT mentioned is OK, you'll need a starter.
If you have good ground strap connection and are missing voltage at either of the starter wires, further diagnostics will be required.

Thanks for the replies. So I haven't had a chance to jack the car up (I live in NYC, and getting under the car is extremely dangerous) but today I was able to get some friends to push me down the street to jump start it. Got it fired up, drove it around until the battery voltage was good and parked it. Tried restarting right away and nothing. A giant rat did jump out from under the car while I was being pushed, and I did find a nest of trash in my engine bay, as well as my #2 plug wire is chewed up. The plug wire still functions, but a lot of rubber is chewed off of it. Now Im not going to get under the car here with this rat posting up in my engine bay. Going to try to drive it to a friends outside of the city, change the starter and pray that it works. Not sure what other wires a rat could eat to stop it from starting, any suggestions are very welcome.
