Did my supercharger just go out?

I just installed a 15 percent pulley a few days ago and everything was great, until today. I was driving down the road and suddenly lost power. The SC sounded like a drill with a dying battery. It would wind up a little bit, plateau, and then stop making any noise. It then went into limp mode and I had to baby it the last mile home. Car starts and idles fine, but I'm pretty sure the SC is rattling and not making any boost whatsoever. The belt is fine and all the pulleys are being driven. I'm gonna go tighten up the SC pulley and pop the belt off and check things out, but it definitely seems like it's time to get a new SC. Assuming it is the SC should I try to track down a low mileage used unit or spring a little extra for a rebuilt unit from Detroit Tuned or WMW?
