Mini Cabrio Roof Issue - Rare Error Symbol - Electrical Issue
Hi All!
God bless this community. I've come here before to different threads, but never posted.
I've been getting an error symbol that I can't find anywhere (attached image). I even tried google image search and can't see it. Not even in manuals.
Overview: cabrio roof top not coming down. Roof was working last season, stopped using it for 7 months. Then I come to use it and get this error. No breakdown happened.
Diagnostics
1)Rear windows don't come down when pressing all window down button.
2)Using computer to check errors brings up an error that seems related. "Rear Window Junction Box wiring" This seems to imply that there is a wiring issue, so rear windows don't come down. If they don't come down then roof won't work I'm guessing. My mechanic tried checking the fuses and wiring, couldn't find it. Is this hidden somewhere? Any ideas?
3)Roof doesn't even open the sunroof portion
Would that error result from either of the two push button switches in the boot not being depressed?
Mine quit working because of the short throw of the boot door switch so I added a patch of felt to the inside of the door where it strikes the switch pin. No problems since.
Hi guys. thank you for the responses! There are 2 button switches in boot? I thought there was only one on the left side.
I don't have a scan tool but will try to get it scanned. Last time I scanned, there was no error that clearly mentioned convertible roof. Closest thing was error with text "Rear Window Junction Box wiring" and I assume that is preventing roof process. Since the rear windows don't go down when pressing the "all window" down button.
There's also a button switch under the left foot of the cargo shelf. Check that the lock down latches a set. Moving things in and out of the boot sometimes one of the latches gets loosened.
