5 codes and no power steering (EML, P0137 P2210 P1498 P1692 P0500)
Last year my brother in law asked me to replace his power steering pump on the car since it went out again after the dealer had replaced it under the recall. After replacing the unit it would still not work and had too many other projects to keep messing with the car so he took it home and parked it. Now that I do not have projects he sent the car back to me to get it running again. I got the car started this weekend, it ran with a rough at idle and the engine light and EML light came on. The Codes i pulled were P0137 P2210 P1498 P1692 P0500. I cleared the codes and started the car again and just let it idle no driving. The engine light has not yet come back on but the EML light came on immediately. First thing I would like to get it running right and passing inspection before i start doing preventative items. Is there something i should focus on with these codes? I know that sometimes they may be related to one item. Second i need to test the power steering pump or seeing why the new unit is not working. Any advise? most of what i have searched seems to be problems that a new one fixes not troubleshooting a new unit. I know some of my problems may be from the cracked intake hose so i will buy a new one. Is there any point in getting a silicone tube or am i just paying extra for something flashy?

2. Ground locations, to ensure they all are intact. Especially the one on the right hand (passenger side in U.S.) by the upper engine mount.
3. Fuel - if it sat for 1.5 years before you fiddled with it last year, plus the ensuing time, depending on where you are located it could be bad, have water / sediment in it or all the above. Depending on how much is in the tank, could see pulling the filter (you need to anyway) and siphoning the remaining fuel out and replacing it with fresh high test.

1. Battery voltage, both car off (12.6V minimum) and idling (13.7-14.2V). These cars hate low voltage.

Thanks,
power steering was the 100 amp fuse. When I put everything back together I made sure the battery was fully charged and all connections were nice and tight. I also put an intake and silicon elbow on since the stock elbow was all torn. Now I am only getting EML and p1498 codes with a low end stumble.

sounds like some progress
1498 seems to be a common one. Iirc I had that code not too long ago...search 1498 returns plenty to work with
