HPFP Replacment Questions

Recently took my mini to get it it diagnosed and they told me its a HPFP that will cost $1380 to repair.

I've decided I'm just gonna do it myself since it doesn't seem to be that difficult.

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...819938580~psa/

I found this part on ECS for 490 compared to 800 for a genuine part the only difference is its a Peugeot part or something.

I have a 2012 Mini Cooper S with 123000 miles just seein if anyone thinks this is a good buy or if I should shell out 800 bucks for genuine parts

Would EBAY be a good place to shop for one of these? I'm seeing them pretty cheap there.

I think the only problem with that part is the availability... "Usually Ships on Feb 23, 2021"

Your car is a 2012 model? What is the build date? There is a cut-off at roughly 3/12 build where a different fuel pump was introduced.

If you have a pre-3/12 model, I would get this one:

My guess, the shop that quoted you a replacement would probably use one of the cheap aftermarket pumps. Those have been known to be flaky, at best. Better to stick to the genuine Mini pump.
