R53 PCV valve

I recently saw an online post where a Mini owner placed a rubber glove over the oil fill hole in the valve cover and showed pressure being expelled thereby inflating the glove. After he replaced the PCV valve, the same oil fill hole was creating a vacuum. Since I needed to anyway, I replaced my PCV valve and it appears that I'm actually getting more pressure expelled from the oil fill hole than before I replaced the part. I understand excessive crank case pressure and some of the issues it can cause but can someone explain to me why after replacing the PCV valve I would get additional pressure (blockage somewhere else)? I should mention that I'm getting carbon deposits on the bottom of the exhaust tips. BTW, the car is running beautifully. Any ideas? Thanks.
