Does Anyone Know What "Internal DKE Motor Failure" Means ???
Earlier today I waited at my MINI dealer while they investigated why my "Check Engine Soon" light had been coming on intermittantly over the past month. The paperwork they gave me before returning the car said that reading the fault codes found an "Internal DKE Motor failure" and that they had special ordered the part.
The MINI Service Advisor was nowhere to be found. Neither her assistant nor anyone else she asked could explain what this meant -- only that I would be called when the part came in so I could make another 100-mile trip back to the dealer to have it replaced. On the long drive home the "Check Engine Soon" Light came on again.
I have a Bentley Service Manual but I can't find a reference in it anywhere to a "DKE Motor"
Does anyone have any ideas ????
Thanks,
Joe

Well, I googled for DKE Motor and BMW and got this:
DKE – Throttle Increase
from here: http://www.mbmw.com/bmw_technical_acronyms.htm and several other sites listed the same thing.
Draw your own conclusions from there.
