R56 S Start Up Without Cat
R56 S Start Up Without Cat
Am nearing the end of a month long project resealing and replacing just about everything on a 2010 S Camden Edition I recently purchased. Replaced timing chain and components, water pump, resealed oil cooler and oil filter housing, valve cover gasket and oil pan and added Detroit Tuned oil feed kit. I also have a new cat to put as the one on the car was shot. My question is this - Can I start the car and get it to operating temp without the cat on to check for leaks? I realize it will be loud and I will also get o2 sensor faults, but will it hurt anything(i.e. turbo)? Its easy to see anything that will leak without the cat in there and would hate to have to remove it again to fix a leak due to my stupidity. I think it will be OK but figured someone here would know better. Thanks in advance!!
