So I was getting a code and a MIL for the cam position sensor, so I changed it as well as spark plugs and wires, and the light went off. BUT my scan tool says its throwing a code for “0340 camshaft position sensor “A” wiring malfunction”. It isn’t throwing a light for it though, today the MIL came on so once again I threw the Scan tool on, along with this code I have “0301 Misfire on cylinder 1” & “0313 Misfire Detected with Low Fuel” but the catch here is there’s no misfire, starts right up no issues, no misfires and runs better than before. The DSC light came on with the MIL. Anyone have any ideas on what’s going on here or at least where to begin chasing electrical gremlins or part testing?
I had this issue after doing a compression test and left the keys in when rotating the crankshaft for a leakdown. Car wouldnt start because the ECU didnt know what was going on, as the engine was 'moving by itself'.
Basically I just pulled the negative terminal on the battery for a few seconds then hooked it back up and could clear the codes + start the car (dont remember which order that was in)
