Mini Mania Venturi Hood Scoop?

Does anyone have any thoughts on the Mini Mania venturi hood scoop?
http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/NMA1310/InvDetail.cfm

Does this mount on top of the intercooler, or inside the scoop itself? Any pics of it installed and/or data suggesting that this thing actually works?

Thanks!

It looks to mount on top of the bonnet on the scoop

Seems to be more of a gimmick to me than a useful means of increasing hp. Of course, it makes your MCS look faster, so there is that value to be considered.

They're always on the cars in the GoMini and New Mini magazines...I think they look really badass. I dont have 200 bucks at the moment, but I think I'll be getting one at some point.

It is a great look, but not for 200 bucks maybe $40. I've seen the product it is a cheapo peace of plastic that has a carbon fiber-look to it. Try to custom mold or create one of your own. Just my $0.02.

here's someothere ones...these are the ones I have on the way...as soon as I get them I'll post pics...a friend had them...said it made a huge difference...cause it forces cold air to the intake...as opposed to the intake trying to suck it from the vent....and there's the optional Y pipe which really gaurantees cold air!!!

The only problem with those scoops are this: Why doesn't the mesh cover the entire opening? There are areas where the mesh is covered up!

WHY???
