R56 n14 enigne fumes in rocker cover
MINI R56 Engine Head IssueHello Everybody,
hope this finds the right people who can help me! I am in a bit of a pickle with my 2007 R56 N14.
so I recently bought the car very cheap i knew it had issues but this is baffling me!! it has turbo issue number one. looks like i will need a refurb, the main issue i have is it was running on 3 cylinders, after taking out the plugs I've seen that the 4th one was hugely contaminated and was not sparking, easy fix however it had a entire head rebuild only 800 miles ago (paperwork to prove it) the head was skimmed and oil seals replaced. the most baffling thing is once the engine is started (new plugs) there is a huge amount of exhaust fumes coming up through the rocker cover. (I mean Bloody loads) having looked into more .. rocker cover off engine running i see it coming up from the inlets to the oil sump and bottom by the timing chain what could this be ?? just the other day I was test driving it and the sump actually pressurized enough to shoot out the top of the dipstick. this surely cant have anything to do with the knackered turbo I am thinking pistons, however I wanted to hear all your thoughts before I went off taking out the engine!!
Thanks and praise someone can help
