Automatic MCS - Rough at lower gears

My automatic '08 MCS pulls fantastically through all gears, but in the lower gears (gears 1 & 2, sometimes 3), there is a vibration that feels like rough bearings that come from the front/centre of the car. It is obvious enough that the passenger can feel it too as a vibration in the footwell. This only happens at near full throttle and in lower gears. I'm guessing this is some issue with the transmission (maybe the torque convertor?) but also happy to hear any thoughts before I throw money at it. The car makes about 230hp at the wheel with a slightly upsized turbo and is tuned.
