Driving a 2019 Mini Countryman
My car is in the shop and they gave me a brand new Mini Countryman to drive. It has 9000 miles on the car. I smell exhaust fumes in the car non-stop. This is with the windows close and irrespective of the A/C recirculating or not.
Anybody seeing this. The car is very smart, turns the lights on when it is dark and a bunch of mind reading capabilities but I can't wait to stop getting CO2 poisoning. It is unbelievable to me as to "HOW" this could be happening with a brand new car. Is this just a lemon and that is why they are using as a service car loaner.

Depending on how long your car is in the shop I would urge you to take it back and demand either a fully functional, non-poisonous loaner, or the cash to go rent a loaner until your service is complete.
They should be completely mortified by this if they have any common sense.
If you are picking up your car today, just keep the windows open and be hyper aware of any feelings of light headedness. Be prepared to pull over at any time and get fresh air if needed. Definitely bring it to their attention when you drop it off either way, hopefully they realize how bad this could have been and find a way to compensate you.
No clue how it could happen unless a previous user smashed up the exhaust.

I don't know. It was weird. The said no-one else complained about it. I'm not sure what would cause it but it was pretty bad. It was like being behind a diesel truck the whole time. Yeah, I eventually opened the windows and in the middle of stand still traffic, the air was better.
