Need Help Fast

My friend just crashed his MINI Cooper a few hours ago, he told me he read something in the manual about the MINI having a fuel cut-off when that's activated when you crash. Is there any way to have this undone?

That sucks. I hope your friend is OK.

I'm not sure of the answer about a fuel cutoff. The car will go into a "limp mode" though. And depending on the severity of the crash, it may unlock the doors and turn the hazards on.

Anyway, I suggest you search on this site and MINI2 for the term "limp mode" to find your answer.

If you crash hard enough for air bags, it will cut off the fuel, turn on the hazards, and lower the windows about 6". I know this first hand. I have no idea how to get the car running again, though

If it's an pre-04 model the reset should be located on a box to the right (looking in under the hood) of the brake fluid resevoir. Not sure for the 04+ models.

yeah it's an 02 or 03 so i'll be sure to look for the switch tom. Any description as to what i should be looking for? also, we didn't crash hard, we went sideways into a thin tree, the problem was that the car ran the tree over and it got stuck under the car. Thanks alot, my friend and i greatly appreciate it.
