Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs.
So new owner to the MINI club here. Have an 03 Mini hardtop. With sunroof, that did sunroof things and leaked. My main issue electrically speaking with this car is no dash lights when headlights are on. Odometer and mileage light up but that’s it. Also every time car is shut off the information is deleted. So tripodometer goes back to 0.0.
Does this sound like a footwell module issue or another issue separate from the leaky sunroof. It’s not a huge issue right now with the longer days but as they get shorter I’m going to need to see the dash at night lol. I’m recovering the headliner and replacing the front drain tubes this weekend. Also will be pulling back carpet and drying passenger footwell area as there is water down there. I don’t have some of the other issues that FWM people have had where my lights are staying on etc. however the reason I got this car cheap is the PO said the battery would die overnight. HOWEVER, I have not had that problem since purchasing.
I have access to a scan scan tool at work and performed a scan on Monday. Attached is the report showing codes for the instrument cluster.
did you check all the fuses? I don't mean just look at them, did you check both sides of each fuse with a test light? Did you check the fuses in both fuse boxes, under the hood and in the car?
Went and checked fuses with a test light. Fuse F5 is a good fuse but does not light the test light both with key on engine off, and key off. It appears to be a dash fuse according to the little picture on the fuse cover. Anyone know what that powers? I swapped 5amp fuses just to double check, but still does not power the test light on either side.
