Horn, multimedia control and cruise controls not working.

Good evening everyone!

I just got my self a mini and currently building it up. I am having issues with the the controls on the steering wheel. It is the 2 spoke wheel on my 2003 Mini Cooper (non-s). I have tried checking the wires behind the airbag and they seem to be alright. Any clue to what might be happing? Thank you.

You know that's what I'm looking at. I have to try it out and see. But has anyone else had this issue?

Had the same symptoms, and it was the clockspring. Discussed on this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...l-buttons.html

Were the controls out when you bought it, or did they go out afterward? Me, I lost the cruise control first, then in a turn a few months later felt something bind up and then rip loose. After that all the wheel controls were lifeless. Don't know how the clockspring ribbon got out of whack, but that's definitely what happened

So it was the clockspring. Just make sure you get it out of a mini that had the radio controls as well. Found it a pick-your-part for about 15 bucks. Now I can finally focus on rolling those fenders. Thanks guys. 👍🏽😅
